The Purse

When given a bag full of objects and tasked with making something random and creative, my partner and I were both like huh. We went through the bag and observed each object and begin to brainstorm . Inside the bag we received was an empty sugar box, cotton, thin line of red cloth, a red color pencil, a safety pin, and a small colorful bouncy ball. We were very confused as to what exactly we could make from this. There were other materials available on the desk to help with our creation, so we went through those as well. What we saw were thick colored paper, scissors, and tape. I grabbed one sheet of construction paper, black duct tape, and scissors and we got to work.

We sat there and voiced our different thoughts as to what we could possibly make from the stuff provided, and we both decided a purse would be a good idea. We used the box as the purse, we covered it in gray colored paper. Then we taped the red line of fabric as the strap of the purse. We decided to put an “MK” logo onto the purse as decor, and we also decided to add an intricate design.

We used all of the obvious objects provided that we thought about using. But little did we know there were so many more things that could have been used. For example, the plastic bag we were given that held the objects. We did not even think of that.  I feel the main aspect was to teach us that you can use any and everything to create your masterpiece and make it a work of art. We do not have to settle using just the obvious basics.
